Sean Murray (Artistic Director)
Sean Murray founded Cygnet Theatre Company along with his husband, Bill Schmidt. He holds a B.F.A. from the professional actors training program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. As Cygnet's Artistic Director, his directing credits include the San Diego premieres of Fully Committed, Bed and Sofa (SD Critics Award, Best Musical Revival), Las Meninas, Escanaba in da Moonlight, The Invention of Love, Parade, The History Boys, The Receptionist, Bug, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, St. Nicholas, The Book of Liz and the world premiere of The Tragedy of the Commons. Other productions with Cygnet are Man of La Mancha, Dirty Blonde, Cabaret (SD Critics Award, Best Musical, Direction), Little Shop of Horrors, Our Town, The Norman Conquests, Private Lives, Sweeney Todd (SD Critics Award, Best Musical), It's A Wonderful Life, Noises Off, A Little Night Music (SD Critics Award, Best Director), Pageant, The Matchmaker, Desire Under the Elms, Santaland Diaries, Arcadia, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Little Foxes and My Fair Lady. His original adaptation of A Christmas Carol: The Radio Play premiered in 2012.

He served as the Artistic Director of North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach, California from 1998 to 2003. During his tenure there he produced many San Diego and Southern California premieres including Arcadia, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Defying Gravity, The Thousandth Night, An American Daughter, and Pageant. The paired productions of The Importance of Being Earnest and Travesties were performed in a rotating repertory and received recognition by the Patte Awards and the San Diego Critics Circle. His production of Cabaret for NCRT was named Best Musical by the San Diego Critics Circle.

Other directing credits include the San Diego Repertory Theatre: A Christmas Carol ('98, '09, '00); University of San Diego: The Dining Room, Heartbreak House for the Old Globe MFA Program; Monomoy Theatre, Cape Cod, Summer and Smoke. Diversionary Theatre: Never the Sinner, Love! Valour! Compassion! which were both recognized as best productions by the KPBS Patté Awards, and the independently produced Tempest on the Beach at the Hotel Del Coronado.

His many acting credits include My Fair Lady, Man of La Mancha, Private Lives, Sweeney Todd, The Rocky Horror Show, The Elephant Man, Ah, Wilderness!, The Tooth of Crime, Annie, South Pacific, The Tempest (Old Globe Theatre), Richard III, Much Ado About Nothing, Travesties, among others. He received a KPBS Patté Award and a Critics Circle Award for his performance as Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha.

In 2005, the San Diego Critics Circle honored him with as Producer of the Year. Sean was named one of the 50 People to Watch by San Diego magazine in 2001. He has served on panels for the San Diego Actors Alliance, San Diego State University MFA design school and the Communication Forum Institute on Auditioning and taught at the University of San Diego and San Diego State University.
Bill Schmidt (Executive Director)
Bill co-founded Cygnet Theatre with Sean Murray. Bill has served as Executive Director of Cygnet since the founding. During Bill's tenure the company budget has grown 10-fold from $200,000 to just under 2 million and has established itself as one of San Diego's largest and most exciting live theatre companies. During this time Cygnet has produced over 60 productions and been awarded over 100 awards. Prior to taking the helm at Cygnet, Bill worked as a Software Development Director for Peregrine Systems. Bill holds a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from St Peters College in New Jersey.
Rob Lutfy (Associate Artistic Director)
Rob was the 2014-2015 National New Play Network Producer-in-Residence at Marin Theatre Company. Some directing credits include: Sons of the Prophet, Cygnet Theatre; The Motherf**ker with the Hat, Cygnet Theatre; Clown Play, NYC International Fringe Festival; The Gin Game, Anacostia Playhouse; The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Threshold Repertory; The Sunset Limited, 3M Productions;Time Stands Still, Collaborative Arts. He has worked on plays in development at The Kennedy Center, The O’Neill Theatre Center, Burning Coal Theatre, The Hub Theatre and The Rensing Center. He has assisted directors at Shakespeare Theatre Company, Folger Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Arena Stage, The Kennedy Center and Marin Theatre Company. He was the 2012-13 William R. Kenan, Jr. Directing Fellow at The John F. Kennedy Center. Rob is a graduate of the directing program under Gerald Freedman at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Autumn Doermann-Rojas (Marketing Director)
Autumn Doermann-Rojas is a marketing professional with experience in non-traditional revenue, advertising creative, social media, production, event planning, communications, and branding. Her most recent position was with 10News, the local ABC affiliate, where she worked as their Creative Sales Marketing Specialist. Prior to that she worked in the non-profit field, holding program coordination positions at The Alzheimer's Association and Family Health Centers of San Diego. She is bilingual and bicultural in Spanish. Autumn graduated in 2002 from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in English and a minor in Spanish. She holds a Marketing Certificate from UC San Diego Extension and is a LEAD San Diego class of 2010 alumni.

She loves the theatre, and her claim to fame is the supporting role of "Toto" in her kindergarten production of The Wizard of Oz, followed by the highly-reviewed role of "Sunbeam Number 4".
Manny Fernandes (Operations Manager)
Manny is a founding board member of Cygnet Theatre, and served as the first Board President. In 2007, he left the board to join the staff full-time. Manny has a long history with the Old Town Theatre, previously serving as Director of Ticketing and Technology for Miracle Theatre Productions from 1999-2006. In addition to his duties as Operations Manager, he is also a Resident Artist, having appeared in more than a dozen productions. Manny holds a BA in Theatre Arts from UC San Diego.
Marinda Peugh (Development Director)
Peugh grew up in Washington State and received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from Western Washington University. She has eight years of professional fundraising experience, including five years in management, working with United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the American Red Cross. She currently lives in Hillcrest.

Michelle Millum (Patron Services Manager)
Michelle Millum is a San Diego native from whom you may have previously purchased tickets at Starlight Theatre, The La Jolla Playhouse, or Theatre Paradok, if you happened to attend a play in Edinburgh, Scotland in the last few years. She has been working in the Cygnet box office since April 2011, and welcoming patrons to the theater before each production since then. When she's not selling tickets, conducting theater tours, or giving curtain speeches, Michelle can usually be found playing lead servant to her three cats, or serving as a combination trampoline/amusement park ride for her nieces and nephew.

Jacob Caltrider (Casting Director)
Jacob started working with Cygnet when he played a Young Ebeneezer Scrooge, among others, in A Christmas Carol back in 2008. He has been involved in several Cygnet productions since then and is proud to now be a Resident Artist! Over the past few years, you've seen him sing, dance and even puppet the monstrous Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors. He was also one of the original members of Cygnet's Storytelling on the Green program, which provides (free to the public) 2-man 10-minute performances of classical works outside in the park every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning. While still performing out in the park and onstage, Jacob now helps to run the Storytelling program as well as perform a wide variety of other theatrically-related work in the administration office.
Trevor Frank (Facilities Manager)
As Facilities Manager, Trevor is happy to bring his "Jack of all Trades" knowledge to Cygnet Theatre. Wearing many hats, he has done everything from stage managing, selling tickets in the box office, plumbing, and even landscaping. Recently he added audio mixer to his Hat collection. Trevor is currently waiting to solve the next problem the theatre has. Perhaps one day he'll even appear on stage.
Gabe Garcia (Development Associate)
Gabe, a San Diego native, has spent more than a decade working for nonprofit arts organizations. He graduated cum laude from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Art, Media and Culture and a minor in Nonprofit Management. Most recently, Gabe spent five and a half years at the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts in Tacoma, Washington. As Membership Manager, he was responsible for the Center's individual giving, database management and also was I.T. Manager.

Brian Mackey (Actor)
Brian has appeared at theatres all over San Diego. Some of his favorite shows include In the Next Room (San Diego Rep), A Midsummer Night's Dream: The Musical (Intrepid Shakespeare), The History Boys (Cygnet Theatre), The Woolgatherer (ion theatre), and The Pride (Diversionary Theatre). Brian was awarded the 2011 SD Critics Circle Actor of the Year and is a Company Member of Intrepid Shakespeare Company, a Resident Artist of Cygnet Theatre, an Associate Artist at Diversionary Theatre, and a Resident Artist at ion theatre.
Amy Perkins (Actor)
