Information Collection and Use
Cygnet Theatre is the sole owner of information collected on this Site. Except in the event of the sale of our business, we will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Cygnet Theatre collects information from our users at several different points on our Site.
What Information Do We Collect?
Generally, we limit the collection of information on this Site to what is known as non-personally identifiable information and we will not require you to provide more information than is necessary to participate in any of our activities on our Site.
However, in some areas on our Site we ask for and collect personally identifiable or financial information, and you may not be able to access those areas or use the services we provide in those areas of the Site without providing the required personal information. These services include registering at the Site, purchasing tickets to events, making donations, choosing to receive promotional materials, and signing up for educational programs. Whenever we request that you submit any personally identifiable information, we will endeavor to notify you of our intended use of that information, as more specifically discussed below. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE, AND CAN DECLINE TO PROVIDE, ANY REQUESTED INFORMATION AT ANY TIME. HOWEVER, IF YOU DECLINE, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN CERTAIN ACTIVITIES AT THIS SITE.
The types of information collected at this Site may include:

How Do We Use Information?
Certain areas of this Site require users to register before access or use is allowed. This Site’s registration form requires users to give us contact information, unique identifiers, and demographic information. All registration information is submitted to us on a voluntary basis. Once you register, we use your contact information from the registration form to contact you with your Site password and user i.d. You may choose to receive information about us and our events and our promotional partners by “opting-in” as described below. IF YOU ARE UNDER 13, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REGISTER OR PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION. We have assumed that users who register with us are over the age of 13. By registering, you warrant that you are over the age of 13.
Once you are registered, you will receive a password and username which must be provided to use the members only restricted areas of the Site. You are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of your password and username.
Opt in for Special Offers, Newsletter and Promotions
If you have opted-into receiving electronic mail communication from Cygnet Theatre, we may use your personal information to email you regarding special offers from Cygnet Theatre, updated information about Cygnet Theatre or Cygnet Theatre websites, or ways in which we can improve your experience at that site. All such emails sent to you by Cygnet Theatre will allow you to opt-out of future electronic communications from Cygnet Theatre. Please see below under “Opt-out”. IF YOU ARE UNDER 13, YOU MAY NOT OPT-IN TO RECEIVE ANY OF THESE COMMUNICATIONS.
If you “opted-in” but no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from us or our partners, you may e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org to tell us that you want to opt-out of receiving such communications. Users who subsequently choose to “opt-out” may still receive such communications for a limited time while we update our system and our partners.
Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether they should proceed with services that require an outside party, or not.
Ticket Purchases and Donations
We request information from you on our ticket order and donation forms. To purchase a ticket or make a donation, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. We use a credit card processing company to bill for tickets and process donations. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. If we have trouble processing your order or donation, your contact information is used to get in touch with you. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PURCHASE TICKETS OR MAKE DONATIONS.
Collecting and Sharing Data
We sometimes collect information to find out how people found our Site, which pages they visited, and how long they stayed. In addition, we may aggregate demographic, profile and non-personal information you provide and use aggregate information to better design our Site and our services. If you register at the Site, we may share this demographic and profile information with our advertisers, licensees and/or other business partners with whom we link to permit them to contact you with information about certain products and services.
We will not share financial information with our partners and advertisers. In addition, we will not share any details of your purchases or donations with our partners or advertisers.
Sharing Data for E-mail, Newsletters, and Mailing lists
As described above, users who register at our Site may choose to “opt-in” to allow us to send you communications from us and our partners. To do so, we may share certain information about you with our promotional partners. Please note that you have the right to “opt-out”, also described above, if you later on choose to no longer allow us to share such information. You always have the right to unsubscribe from any mailing lists we may maintain, or to delete personally identifiable electronic information we have collected online about you. We use a software technology called “cookies” to collect non-personally identifiable information. Cookies are pieces of information that we may place on your computer to help “personalize” your visit to the Web site and to allow you to enter our Web site without having to remember and enter any special passwords. IP Address and Machine Type
An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web. Web servers, the computers that “serve up” Web pages, automatically identify your computer by its IP address. When you request a page from our Web site, our servers log your IP address. An IP address does not contain personally identifiable information. Except with respect to our e-commerce activities (e.g., on-line purchases or donations) or communications with users who have “opted-in”, we do not link IP addresses with personally identifiable information. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to help identify you and your shopping cart and to gather broad demographic information. We may also collect information about your browser software and/or machine type (e.g., Windows, Mac, Unix, etc.).

Independently-operated Web sites are not associated with or authorized by us and may also have links leading to this Web site. We cannot control any of these links and are not responsible for any content appearing on Web sites linked to or from our Web site, or for any personal information gathered at those independently-operated Web sites.
Data Integrity and Security
We take reasonable precautions to keep your personal information secure. We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect. In cases where the information is not stored on separate computer servers, it is only accessible from specific computers within our control. We have and will continue to take reasonable measures to assure the security and accuracy of all information our visitors share with us. Our efforts include procedures designed to avoid any unauthorized access, alteration, misuse or disclosure of personally identifiable information.
This Site takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When you submit sensitive information via the Site, your information is protected both online and off-line.
When our registration/order form asks you to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the industry standard for encryption software secure socket layer (SSL). While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices.
This Site allows you to view and change the personally identifiable information you previously provided. If you are a registered visitor, you are welcome to view, change or delete your registration information at any time, or to update the contact information we have for you or to inform us that you want to “opt-out” of receiving certain communications from us or our promotional partners. To do so, please go to the registration page of this Site using the same computer from which you initially registered, and click on “delete or add”.
As described above, in the event that a child under 13 registers without our knowledge of his or her age, you as a parent or guardian can notify us and review the information. We will then immediately delete the information from our records.
