Cygnet Serves

Thanks in part to a James Irvine Foundation Exploring Engagement Fund Grant, we are proud to launch Cygnet Serves. Designed to give back to those who serve our country both abroad as well as on the homefront, this comprehensive initiative aims to engage in frank, authentic communication with San Diego’s military community and provide them with the opportunity to develop the same appreciation for the theatre that drives our mission here at Cygnet.

Tickets for Troops

This holiday season, we are proud to continue our TICKETS FOR TROOPS program (previously “SEATS FOR SOLDIERS”) as a way to enrich the lives of our military and veterans, and show our appreciation for their service. For every $100 you contribute, you make it possible for a family of five to enjoy the classic musical A Christmas Carol.

We’ll be partnering with San Diego area non-profit organizations to provide enlisted military, veterans, and their families complementary tickets to this lively tale of compassion and redemption.

Military Community Workshops

Knowing that being a spectator is only one of the many ways of engaging in the art of theatre, we are looking to increase opportunities for active participation in theatre of military members and their families through a variety of workshop opportunities.  These workshops, designed in consultation with each of our partner-host organizations, will aim to serve their specific needs and interests through a variety of theatre based activities.

Blue Star Theatres

Blue Star Theatres is a collaboration between Theatre Communications Group and Blue Star Families, with leadership support from the MetLife Foundation. This initiative is intended to recognize the contributions of service families, to build stronger connections between the theatre community and military families in communities all across the country, and to help in whatever small way we can to aid service people and their families as they seek to be integrated into the lives of their communities. Each participating Blue Star Theatre is offering discounted or complimentary admission to all military personnel and their families, as well as veterans. You can read more about this program and find other Blue Star Theatres.
