Inspired by an actual news story about a high school prank gone wrong, Karam’s contemporary tale about two gay brothers dealing with a family tragedy in a run down area of Nazareth, PA, deals with themes of family, culture, and resilience. Two brothers are on their own after their father dies of a heart attack two weeks after a car accident, leaving them alone to take care of themselves and their aging uncle. What unfolds is a comedy about human suffering, love, strength and hope. Sons of the Prophet explores the inevitability of loss and our attempts to cope with its consequences.

She was last seen onstage as Edith in Blithe Spirit at Moonlight at the Avo where she also has played Aunt Clara in Magic Fire and as Clara the maid in Hay Fever. Li-Anne has performed in a number of companies in the area including New Village Arts as Leah in Prelude to a Kiss and Widow Bassett in Summer and Smoke. She is an HHP, Herbalist, and “Aunt Li-Anne”- a Professional Storyteller with the Storytellers of San Diego. Li-Anne is very grateful to her husband-Michael and sons-Jonas and Beckett for their patience and support.

VinBorn and raised in Dallas, TX, Xavier started acting his senior year of high school when he was cast in Alice in Wonderland. He moved to San Diego in the fall of 2012 to attend San Diego State University and pursue a B.A in Theatre Arts with an Emphasis in Performance. At the end of his freshman year at SDSU, he studied acting abroad in Lima, Peru for a period of two weeks. Favorite credits include the Laramie Project, The Jungle Book, and Peter Pan (SDSU). Currently a junior at SDSU, Xavier is planning on graduating in the spring of 2016. He is beyond thrilled to be working on his first professional show ever here at Cygnet Theatre and is looking forward to growing his craft among such passionate individuals.

TimothyThis is Austin’s first production with Cygnet Theatre. His credits include a staged reading of Tucumcari at Fountain Theatre, Rope with Queen City Theatre Company, and Another Part of the Forest, Vinegar Tom, and Twelfth Night at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He also composed the score to last year’s independent film Seeing Each Other. Along with attending UNCSA, Austin studied at The Clown School with David Bridel.

Chad is very excited to be a part of the Cygnet design staff for the first time. Originally from Chicago, IL. he is currently seeking his MFA in lighting design from the San Diego State University School of Theatre, Television, and Film, where he recently designed Les Miserables in Concert. Other recent design works includes Traditions of Christmas for the Christian Youth Theatre, and an upcoming design for Baby with the Bathwater at Diversionary Theatre in San Diego. As a member of the budding lighting design firm RealEyes Lighting, he looks forward to becoming a part of Cygnet, as well as the San Diego theatre community. Chad would like to thank his professors, and the staff of Cygnet for giving him this opportunity.
Syd Stevens
Syd is a multitalented fine artist, photographer, filmmaker and multimedia designer. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema and Photography from Southern Illinois University. Syd has contributed to numerous theatre productions, music videos, television productions, TV commercials and has worked both behind the scenes and in front of the camera on motion picture film productions. He has had has had many public art, photography and digital multimedia exhibitions. He is also a community activist and covers current local events as a photojournalist and blogger. At Cygnet, Syd was charge artist for The Motherf**ker with the Hat, Fool for Love and True West.
