Cygnet Education Mission Statement:

The foundation of our philosophy and programming is grounded in prioritizing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We are committed to forging long-lasting relationships with communities that are not part of our theatre history and are less visible in our theatre populations. We are dedicated to building a Cygnet Theatre Bridge by investing in the neighborhoods we serve. We are resolved to listen to the narratives of the communities we serve to achieve our goals mutually.

Our latest partnership:

Cygnet Theatre is thrilled to announce a new partnership in the South Bay with Chula Vista High SCPA. This Pre-Professional Program brings together the Sweetwater Union High School Career and Technical Education and Visual and Performing Arts Departments, the students of Chula Vista High SCPA, and the professional staff of Cygnet Theatre

At the heart of this partnership lies a unique opportunity for students to gain invaluable industry-specific experience through apprenticeships in producing Chula Vista High’s upcoming spring show, The Matchmaker, with performances running from February 29 to March 9, 2024.

This collaboration isn’t just about putting on a show; it’s about providing students with unprecedented work-based learning opportunities essential for their growth in the theatre realm. By immersing themselves in real-world scenarios under the guidance of industry experts, students will not only enhance their theatre education but also fulfill crucial components of the 2023-2024 CTE Certification, Industry, “Work Based Learning Opportunities” matrix.
