ABOUT THE SHOW:
The Little Fellow is a risqué comedic drama based on the life and tell-all memoirs of one the 19th century’s most notorious courtesans. Since the age of fifteen, Harriette Wilson’s patrons included some of the country’s most distinguished and high-powered men. After decades of opulence and extravagance, societal attitudes shift and the courtesans’ way of life is becoming obsolete. Harriette sees the tide changing and wants to get out of the ‘business’… and she has a plan. A plan that threatens her reputation, her business, and ultimately, her life. She’s lived by putting a price on her companionship, so why not charge for her discretion too? Featuring playwright Kate Hamill as Harriette.

Mary. She/Her. Any Race/Ethnicity. Early to Mid 20s.
Harriette’s young maid. Used to live in abject poverty on the street; Harriet has taken her in. An orphan who has nowhere else to go. Cockney or Irish. Very earnest; naturally loving and concerned with other’s welfare. Not a very good maid, but a very good person. Romantic, in her heart. Doubles multiple roles.
Male Track. He/Him. Any Race/Ethnicity. Mid 30s to Early 50s.
This track covers two primary male roles, The Duke and George Hill. Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington is England’s hero. Powerful, very rich. A military man. A man of privilege. Has a secret. Accustomed to getting his way. Very smart. Capable of being dangerous. George is a Libertine with an active conscience. Doubles multiple roles.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Present Laughter is lighthearted farce that celebrates playwright Noël Coward’s legendary wit and larger-than-life persona. Based on Coward himself, actor Garry Essendine is the star of the London theatrical scene at the height of his fame and adored by legions of admirers–perhaps a little too much. Fans regularly throw themselves at Garry’s feet, drawn in by his charm and charisma, throwing his household into chaos. In the week before Garry is set to embark on an African tour, he is forced to juggle a besotted young woman with stars in her eyes, an unhinged young playwright obsessed with being in Garry’s presence, his best friend’s wife who is determined to seduce him, his manager, his producer, his secretary, his estranged ex-wife, and an impending mid-life crisis.
ROLES:
Garry Essendine. He/Him. Any Race/Ethnicity. Late 40s to Early 60s.
A cigarette-holder-wielding matinee idol slipping reluctantly into middle age; self-dramatizing, self-important, and hopelessly self-infatuated.

Joanna Lyppiatt. She/Her. Any Race/Ethnicity. Late 30s to Mid 40s.

Monica Reed. She/Her. Any Race/Ethnicity. Late 30s to Early 50s.
Garry’s secretary and “right-hand man”; sharp-witted, organized, acerbic.
Daphne Stillington. She/Her. Any Race/Ethnicity. Early 20s to Mid 30s.
A debutante and budding social climber. The ingenue. Innocent and romantic but ambitious.
Lady Saltburn/Mrs. Erickson. She/Her. Any Race/Ethnicity. Late 30s to Early 70s.
This track covers Lady Saltburn, Daphne’s Aunt: a majestic but effusive society woman and Mrs. Erickson, Garry’s Swedish eccentric housekeeper.
Morris Dixon. He/Him. Any Race/Ethnicity. 30s to Early 50s.
Garry’s friend and theatrical producer; romantic and self-involved. A bit bohemian and a terrible liar.
Fred. He/Him. Any Race/Ethnicity. 30s to Early 60s.
Garry’s smartly-dressed, cocky valet. A jolly, working class fellow with an uncomplicated view of life.
Roland Maule. He/Him. Any Race/Ethnicity. 30s to Early 60s.
A struggling aspiring playwright with highly overblown ideas about his talent, his personal appeal, and his social skills. Highly intelligent but in that annoyingly precocious college kid way. Too earnest by half, he hides his nerves by assuming an air of gruff defiance. British.
