PRODUCTION DATES:
1st Rehearsal: June 4, 2024;
Tech Rehearsal: June 25, 2024;
Dress Rehearsal: July 2, 2024;
Performances Begin: July 3, 2024;
Closing Performance: August 4, 2024 (possible extension to August 11, 2024)

SYNOPSIS:
Based on the autobiographical musical by playwright Jonathan Larson. It’s the story of an aspiring composer in New York City who is worried he made the wrong career choice, whilst navigating the pressures of love and friendship.

EQUITY/ NON-EQUITY CALL:
Union performers are paid the SPT-6 $576 weekly minimum.
Non-union performers are paid an hourly rate of $17.00 for rehearsals through tech.
Performances are a 4-hour minimum call.

GENERAL CALL:
Currently casting principal roles in our upcoming production of tick, tick…BOOM!

AUDITION PREPARATION:
Prepare a contemporary musical theater song from or in the style of the show no more than a minute long. If you wish to demonstrate singing/playing skills you’re welcome to prepare a short song.

Please bring a copy of your headshot, resume, and your book in case you’re asked to sing something else.

HOUSING:
Local housing is subject to availability based on casting needs of the production.

CASTING BREAKDOWN:

Jon. Male. Any Race/Ethnicity. 20’s-30’s.
A struggling composer on the brink of his 30th Birthday. Michael’s roommate and Susan’s Boyfriend. Range: Tenor, A2-A4 (Piano / Instrumental Experience a plus but not required.)

Michael. Male. Any Race/Ethnicity 20’s-30’s
A former actor-turned-market research executive. He is Jon’s roommate and best friend. Character Doubles as: COUNTER GUY, DAD, and MARKET RESEARCH GUY. Range: Tenor, Bb2-Gb4

Susan. Female. Any Race/Ethnicity 20’s-30’s
A dancer and Jon’s girlfriend. Sexy, kind, independent. Character Doubles as: KARESSA, ROSA, JUDY, and MOM. Range: Mezzo-Sop A3-D5

*Note: Any actor coming in for ALL roles has the option of showing off their singing/playing skills.
