Donald C. & Elizabeth Dickinson Foundation Scholarships
Cygnet Theatre is proud to award a $2,500 one-time scholarship to four local San Diego high school seniors prepared to continue training in theatre programs nationwide.
The scholarship application period is October 23 to December 15, 2023.
“Cygnet Scholarship Day” panel selection performances will take place on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Cygnet Theatre at 5:30 PM.
The audition-based scholarship process will include the following:
- Participating schools will identify 6 to 10 students from their theatre programs that sing and act. Students must prepare 32 bars of a song and a 90-second monologue.
- Cygnet will provide a 90-minute workshop for the selected students at each participating school on a mutually agreed upon date between February – March of 2024.
- Cygnet will select three students from each school to participate in the “Cygnet Scholarship Day.”
- The ”Cygnet Scholarship Day” will involve on-site attendance from all selected participants, where they will be required to perform for a select panel.
- The panel will select four scholarship recipients at the end of the process.
- Scholarship money is made available upon proof of matriculation; students may use their award fund however they see fit.
